Junctional Hemorrhage Control and Chest Seals: Learn techniques for controlling severe bleeding in difficult areas, such as the neck, groin, and axilla, along with the application of chest seals to manage open chest wounds and prevent pneumothorax.
Splinting and Stabilization: Master the application of splints and other methods to stabilize fractures and injuries, ensuring proper immobilization and safe transport.
Needle Chest Decompression: Acquire the skills needed to perform needle chest decompression, a critical procedure to relieve pressure from a tension pneumothorax and restore normal breathing.
IV Access and Fluid Resuscitation for Shock: Develop proficiency in establishing IV access and administering fluids to treat shock, stabilizing the patient’s condition in emergency situations.
Burn Treatment and Basic Medication Administration: Understand the essentials of treating burns, including pain management and wound care, along with the administration of basic medications to address various emergency conditions.
Toxicology Awareness and Treatment: Learn to recognize and respond to toxic exposures, including the administration of appropriate treatments to counteract poisoning and toxic substances.

Our CPR and First Aid course equips everyday pet owners with the vital skills needed to effectively manage emergencies and ensure the safety of their pets.
Bandaging and Wound Care: Learn the fundamentals of applying bandages and wound dressings, including pressure dressings and tourniquet application, to control bleeding and protect injuries in emergency situations.
Basic Airway Management: Gain essential skills in maintaining a clear airway, ensuring that canine patients can breathe properly during critical moments.
Temperature Regulation: Understand how to prevent hypothermia and recognize and treat hyperthermia (heatstroke) to keep working dogs safe in extreme conditions.
Shock Recognition and Response: Develop the ability to identify the signs of shock and respond effectively with appropriate first aid measures to stabilize the patient.
Toxicology Awareness and Rattlesnake Envenomation: Learn to recognize and treat toxic exposures, including specific protocols for managing rattlesnake bites and other forms of envenomation in working dogs.

Meet Your Instructor
With two decades of combined experience in veterinary and human emergency care, I bring a unique and specialized skill set to the table. As a board-certified ER nurse with 10 years in human ER nursing and 10 years in veterinary ER, trauma, and ICU care, I've developed a deep, practical understanding of critical care. My role as a TCCC CM/C instructor and an Air Force Reserves flight nurse with deployment experience has further sharpened my trauma and prehospital care expertise. Beyond my clinical background, I am deeply passionate about advancing the health and welfare of working dogs and pets. This passion drives me to deliver training that is not only grounded in real-world experience but also fueled by a genuine commitment to making a difference for both handlers and their canine partners.
